Meet your Hosts
“Welcome to Dog is Love Podcast! I’m Cara Kelly”
Cara Kelly has been walking beside Chrissy Wohltmann since 2010, helping grow Canine to Five and now being a key visionary for the Dog Is Love Podcast. What began as a simple way to spend more time outdoors with animals soon unfolded into a calling—one rooted in connection, compassion, and the quiet wisdom of dogs.
Her journey started in Jackson, Wyoming, with a brilliant and wildly spirited Black Lab who would become her greatest teacher. Through that experience, Cara discovered that dogs don’t just fill our lives—they shape them, guiding us toward patience, presence, and joy.

About Chrissy
Chrissy Wohltmann is the heart and visionary behind Canine to Five and the Dog Is Love Podcast. What began in 2007 as a simple dream to walk dogs and spend more time outdoors has evolved into a lifelong mission: to help people understand the deeper language of their dogs and the lessons they offer about love, presence, and connection.
Grounded, intuitive, and endlessly curious, Chrissy believes a dog’s love is one of life’s purest reflections of the divine—unconditional, forgiving, and full of joy. Nearly two decades into her journey, she continues to guide others with warmth and wisdom, teaching that when we truly understand our dogs, we also learn more about ourselves.
WHAT
MEANS TO US…
Dog Is Love was created from a place of truth — the truth that dogs have a way of seeing into our hearts long before we’re ready to reveal them. They show up exactly as they are, with no agenda, no mask, no performance. Just love. Pure, steady, grounding love. And that is the essence of this podcast.
For us, this space is more than conversations about training, gear, or routines. It is a sanctuary. A place where we honor the quiet wisdom dogs offer us every single day. Their patience. Their presence. Their ability to sense our storms and sit beside us in the stillness. Through the laughter, the messes, and the growing pains, dogs remind us of who we are when we soften — when we choose compassion over perfection and connection over control.
Dog Is Love is our love letter to that bond. Born from years of walking beside dogs, learning from them, humbling ourselves to their lessons, and opening our hearts to the extraordinary power of unconditional love. When we sit down behind the mic, our intention is always the same: to lift, to guide, to nurture, and to remind you that this relationship — the one between you and your dog — is sacred.
Here, we tell stories that heal. We share wisdom that comes from experience. We offer encouragement for the days that feel overwhelming and celebration for the days that feel magical. Because we know that when you welcome a dog into your life, you invite in a presence that expands you — that teaches you, strengthens you, and brings you back to center.
And at the core of everything we do, one truth remains:
Dogs lead with love and that love changes us.
